Elvis' Birthday Honors Miner: Chilean Miner Edison Pena Honored at Elvis' Birthday
Elvis' birthday celebration will honor freed Chilean miner Edison Pena at a special tribute in Graceland.
Pena became known worldwide as a major Elvis fan while he was trapped 22,000 feet below ground in a Chilean mine. Pena helped keep morale high among the 32 others he was trapped with by leading Elvis sing-a-longs.
Elvis’ birthday is typically celebrated in January around the world. Hundreds of fans are expected to descend on Graceland Jan. 6 – 9 this year.
Special events this year include a tour with Pena, a tribute concert, birthday cake cutting and conversations with those who knew the King. WWW.WDALAW.COM
