Frankie Muniz: Not Suicidal, Still With Girlfriend
Grossberg
admits to having a bad fight with girlfriend Elycia Turnbow a few days ago that resulted in the cops being called, but he's shooting down allegations that he put a gun to his head and threatened to kill himself.
"A gun played no part in the argument and was voluntarily given to the police for safekeeping," Muniz's rep said in a statement. "There were no bruises on anyone. Neither left the residence that night."
"He was not suicidal. She was not assaulted," the rep continued. "They have been together since the incident; are still together and are moving forward with their lives and with their relationships."
"What everyone is learning today is now 72 hours old for them, so they've moved on from it and are living their lives and don't want to go back and relive what happened," his rep added exclusively to E! News.
"Nobody was arrested, they've since resolved it and they both just want some space from it now."
So what started the fight in the first place?
According to a police report filed in Phoenix last Friday, the 25-year-old Muniz and Turnbow got into a fight over "prior relationships" when she claimed the actor-musician "grabbed a gun and held it to his head," possibly with the "intent of committing suicide."
Turnbow later told authorities that she called one of Muniz's bandmates, who took the former child star to the hospital, where he was evaluated and released a short time later.
Per the complaint, when Muniz returned home later that evening around 10 p.m., the pair began arguing again. According to Turnbow's statement to police, things turned violent and she alleged Muniz "punched her in the back of the head, and threw her into a wall while in the downstairs bedroom."
The officer responding to the disorderly conduct call found a black semi-automatic .380 handgun in a downstairs closet—where Turnbow said she hid it after Muniz sought medical treatment, the report states. The weapon wasn't loaded but the magazine had bullets in it and the cop impounded it for safekeeping.
For his part, according to police documents, Muniz initially told the officer that while he didn't put a gun to his head, he "grabbed the case, but not the gun...it isn't even loaded."
During the "extremely emotional" confrontation, the actor, who is trying his hand these days as a professional race-car driver, told the cops that there was a lot of "yelling and screaming" but nothing physical. He also said he only went to the hospital, worried he had a concussion after falling and hitting his head. He later left after saying "he was feeling better."
After returning to their residence, he said he went to sleep downstairs while she was upstairs and awoke to find Turnbow "hitting him in the face about prior relationships." Muniz told officers that he was scared things were "getting out of control" so he called police.
Since neither had any visible injuries (though one officer noted Turnbow "showed signs and symptoms of drinking alcohol"), police took their statements and warned them that the next time they responded, both could face disorderly conduct charges and possibly jail.
Turnbow could not be reached for comment, but we have a clue as to where she was last night.
"The table all set for Valentine's Day dinner...I love @elyciamarie," Muniz tweeted, along with a photo of a rose-petal strewn table set for five.
