Lady Gaga, Cee Lo, Katy Perry To Perform At Grammys

  The first slate of performers for the upcoming 53rd annual Grammy Awards were revealed Thursday morning (January 13), and the roster reads like a pop-music all-star lineup. MTV already broke the news on Wednesday that Eminem will cement one of the best professional years of his career by taking the stage on February 13 at the Staples Center, where he's also up for 10 awards. And he'll have plenty of chart-smashing company.

Among the other nominees on the list to perform are Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Cee Lo Green, Arcade Fire and Miranda Lambert. It will be the first Grammy performance ever for Lambert and Arcade Fire, while Cee Lo, Eminem, Gaga and Perry are making return engagements.

For Eminem, the performance is the latest in a line of accomplishments tied to his career-renaissance album, Recovery, which is nominated for Album of the Year. The Detroit lyricist scored a pair of #1 singles from the album with "Not Afraid" and "Love the Way You Lie," featuring Rihanna. With the most nominations for the night, he's also likely to go home with a few more awards than he did at the 2009 Grammys, when his tepidly received Relapse snagged Best Rap Album.

Eminem has already been featured in the show's promotional campaign. A touching 30-second spot showcases Em's musical legacy, from the loss of his friend Proof to his struggles through drug dependency and his rise back to the top of the hip-hop game.

Joining him in the Grammy promo campaign on Wednesday were indie upstarts Arcade Fire, who are up for three awards for their album The Suburbs. Their "Music Is Life Is Music" ad was revealed on Wednesday, showing singer Win Butler singing passionately amid a collage of images that include a casket, barn, roses, wedding rings and dripping chocolate bars. While 11-time Grammy winner Eminem leads the pack in nominations this year, Gaga is not far behind with six nods for The Fame Monster, while Perry and Green are each up for four, and Arcade Fire and Lambert are vying for three awards.

Lady Gaga is taking “Paparazzi” to the next level, unveiling her long-awaited Grey Label line of photo products for Polaroid at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Jan. 6. After being named the brand’s creative director at last year’s showcase, the pop icon spent much of 2010 developing some high-tech digital functions for Polaroid’s instant photography. Dressed in a plunging, corseted black suit and fingertip-length veil, Gaga helped model her Grey Label products, including LCD-screen sunglasses that instantly display images taken with their built-in camera! “I consider myself to be a visionary, not just a songwriter and singer. I am an artist,” the star, who is no stranger to statement-making sunglasses, said of the new line in a release. Her favorite item? “I’m most excited about the printer,” she gushed of the GL10 instant mobile printer, which syncs wirelessly with mobile phones to allow users to print off their cell snapshots. “Your images will no longer die a death on your cell phone or digital camera.” The printer will hit stores in May 2011 and retail for $150, while the other Grey Label products will be released later in the year. –Alex Apatoff

Lady Gaga has released a teaser photo to promote her new album, Born This Way. Gaga's album photo features her baring her butt. Wait, what do you mean you're not shocked? It's her butt! Oh, you've seen it already? Yeah, us too!

Lady Gaga rang in the New Year on Twitter by announcing that her new album, Born This Way, would be released May 23.

That means plenty of brand new fancy outfits to promote it. Not sure how she could top the meat dress, but hey, it will certainly be fun to see what she comes up with. Perhaps a set of trousers made of Atari 2600 cartridges or a lovely cow dung frock.

I'm just kidding, really. It's actually a nice change to see someone innovate in that way.

Whether it's for shock value or not, Lady Gaga certainly has her own style and makes no apologies for it. That said, I wonder if she's gone so far that nothing is left to shock us with.

To promote her new album, Gaga has released a photo of herself in a denim jacket and no pants. No Hanky Panky thong either. No, the lady is bare-bottomed.

If a photo of Taylor Swift showed up showing her butt, we'd all faint from shock. But Lady Gaga? I'm actually surprised at how tame this one is.

It reminds me of the George Michael Faith video...minus the pants.

Bullock scores points for her support of education for low-income kids in Louisiana, Bieber gets big ups for his work with children's hospitals, and so do Gaga for her very public support over the repeal of DADT, Winfrey for her overwhelming generosity in general and the newly engaged William for his work with homeless youth in Britain.

Rounding out the list are Leonardo DiCaprio, getting props for his interest in endangered tigers; Ellen DeGeneres for her support of the Trevor Project and its efforts to prevent anti-gay bullying; Nick Jonas for his activism around diabetes; and Matt Damon for his longtime passion project in providing clean water water around the world.




Jake Gyllenhaal's main squeeze, Taylor Swift, gets a nod for her flood-relief efforts in Tennessee, Alicia Keys gets props for her much-covered "Digital Death" campaign in support of Keep a Child Alive, and Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore are recognized for their efforts to prevent child sex trafficking.

Lady Gaga: Bottoms Up in Paris!



Never shy when it comes to her clothing choices, Lady Gaga showed off her derriere as she ventured out in Paris, France on Tuesday (December 21).

Wearing a black jacket overtop a lingerie ensemble with black fishnet stockings, the "Poker Face" singer was escorted over to the 'Bruce Field' store at Palais Royal for a bit of City of Lights shopping.





Also sending out a tweet to her millions of fans, Gaga wrote, "2nite's the last show before the single. Is it legal to ruffie yourself for album release? BORNTHISWAY sedatives? Santa, I Wanna Be Sedated." Gaga's shopping session comes as she's all geared up to perform another gig in Paris - with tonight's show being held as a replacement date for her weather-related cancellation a few days back.

Lady Gaga 'furious' at being forced to postpone Paris show has hit out at the French government after they "detained" her equipment and arrested two of her entourage ahead of a gig in Paris last night (December 19).




the singer said she had been told her gig at Paris' Bercy venue would not be allowed to go ahead due to heavy snowfall in the city.

"All 28 of my trucks for the Monsterball were detained by the French government," Gaga wrote. "Two of my employees were arrested trying to get into Paris so we could perform. I am furious and devastated, its unfair to my fans and to me."


Gaga added: "I asked if I could do a stripped version of show, but there would be no sound or power source, its all been detained. I'm so sorry, angry and sad."
A further from the singer explained that the cancelled show will now take place on Tuesday (December 21), while tonight's show, also at the Bercy venue, will go ahead as planned.

Gaga had originally been due to perform at the venue on October 22 and 23, but postponed the shows due to "logistical difficulties".
